Katsushika Hokusai war ein japanischer Künstler und Holzschnittmeister, der vor allem für seine Ukiyo-e-Werke während der Edo-Zeit bekannt war. Er wurde in Edo (heute Tokio) geboren und begann seine Karriere schon in jungen Jahren als Lehrling bei einem Graveur. Hokusai ist vielleicht am bekanntesten für sein Werk „Die große Welle vor Kanagawa“, Teil der Serie „Sechsunddreißig Ansichten des Berges Fuji“, das die Natur und Kultur Japans mit beispielloser Präzision und Kreativität einfängt. Seine Kunstwerke beeinflussten nicht nur die japanische Kunst, sondern auch die westliche Kunst, insbesondere während des Impressionismus. Hokusai experimentierte im Laufe seines Lebens mit verschiedenen Stilen und Themen und seine Beiträge zur Kunst haben ihn sowohl in Japan als auch international zu einer Ikone gemacht.

Productmaterial

We print on vegan, matte 210 gsm Fine Art paper from the German paper manufacturer Hahnemühle, whose history dates back to the late 16th century. Hahnemühle uses only pulp sourced from FSC- or PEFC-certified forests. The paper mill is located within a protected nature reserve, ensuring that production is both environmentally responsible and carefully regulated.

As the paper is acid-free and meets all requirements of the ISO 16245 standard, our posters are exceptionally age-resistant and can last for more than 100 years under proper conditions.
